Blackbrook Lodge Bed & Breakfast nestles closely to the tiny village of Turnditch and is within easy reach of superb walks and attractions within the Peak District.
Nearby towns and villages which are well worth a visit.. include the historic market town of Ashbourne [only a 5 minute drive away], Dovedale, Belper, and derby city [great for shopping!]
Nearby attractions include;
Carsington reservoir and water sports and visitors centre which offers sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and has the most beautiful walkways and cycle
routes within the centre. Bring your own cycle or hire one from
the centre we are also within easy reach of
Alton Towers for a fun day out of thrill and
spills!
Blackbrook lodge has 16 acres of beautiful
grounds with a small lake and large ponds,
all our guests are welcome to take a stroll
or a picnic within the grounds and fishing is
available on request [at a small extra cost]
but we do insist on "barbless" hooks and
keep nets are not allowed to be used. We
are lucky enough to have our own resident
swan, ducks and geese and have a small
flock of sheep. We often have up to 30 wild
canada geese landing on the lake for a visit.
And it is quite breathtaking to see them all
land on the water at the same time.
